6 items I always have on hand to feed impromptu visitors

Quick Snack Board
Whether you consider yourself a modern-day Betty Crocker or not, it's super easy to quickly throw something decent together to feed guests who show up for an impromptu visit! You don't have to put much thought into it, and as long as you keep the following staples in your fridge/pantry and have a decent wooden cutting board or a plain white serving tray around, you don't need much else!
Here’s SIX snack board items I always keep on hand just in case we have last minute guests!
⋒ Nuts - I always have a bag of pecans, almonds and/or pistachios on hand. You can serve pecans and almonds raw or take a few minutes to candy them. Of course if you know your guests are nut-free, keep them stored away.
⋒ Cheese - We always have a mild option such as mild cheddar or Monterey but slice up whatever you typically eat!
⋒ Crackers - A good GF option is always good to have around just in case!
⋒ Ranch dressing - Again, keep stored away if you know your guests are DF; or have another dipping option at the ready such a hummus.
⋒ Cucumber - I partially peel it, then slice.
⋒ Grapes - They take up space on the board as well as add some color and sweetness!
Other staples that I personally keep on hand, just because they're items we always eat or use as ingredients are: petite dill pickles, chocolate chips, pretzel chips and hummus.
It’s amazing what you can throw together last minute and make look nice; this is a lunchtime hit for my kids as well! Of course you can't feed a simple snack board to grown adults as a dinner, but having these things to throw together quickly can at least serve as somewhat of an appetizer while you figure if you're going to order in dinner or if you magically already have everything to put together a decent meal at home. Either way, your guests won't be hangry so that's a win! Happy hosting!
